In this Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), discusses Church Worker Appreciation Month.
Harrison introduces the Set Apart to Serve church work recruitment initiative, which is examining the struggles with church worker shortages in the Synod and providing resources for pastors, teachers and other influencers to encourage children to pursue church work.
He encourages us to pray and give thanks for our current church workers, and to pray to the Lord for new pastors, teachers and other church workers (Matt. 9:36–38).
"It's His harvest, they're His workers, and He'll send them. He bids us to pray," says Harrison.
