Core Value - Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

Outreach:  Bethany school reaches children & their families with Jesus love.  150 TK-8, 57 PS (full & part time) children are attending.  All Bethany members can reach out to school families by prayer, volunteering in the classroom, meeting families such as at chapel on Wednesdays at 8:30am.  Your personal invitation helps friends & families learn about Jesus love for them.  Talk to Pastor Pledger to help with outreach.

Strategic Plan:  Please pray about how you can help reach the goals outlined in the strategic plan.  More copies are available in the church office.  Look for Pastor Pledger’s email invitation to participate to help reach goals of the strategic plan.

Bethany ministries are limited only by the faith of members.  God is our help & salvation.  A matching fund was designated to help Bethany reach the strategic goal of engineering a new worship center.  To receive a match from the anonymous donation of $50,000, simply label your donation “matching”.   Talk to Carole Wilson, treasurer, to help with Bethany finance.

But what can you offer?

What are you capable of doing to serve the ministry.  Take your cue from the Bible’s New Testament Book of Acts.  We see the original eleven disciples (minus Judas Iscariot), continued the early WAY ministry.  Saint Paul, the apostle reported that 3,000 were added daily to the converts.  How was this done?  Can it be done at Bethany? We know that one man with his colleagues, Saint Paul preached to seven churches he established in most of Asia Minor.

Think about becoming an Elder, Samuelite, Acolyte, Usher, Greeter, member teacher, grounds-keeper for church & school, gardener, utility serviceman, janitorial helper and frequent contributor to the articles found monthly in the Breezes magazine.

Again, some of you visit elderly members of our church or help to bring someone to Bible study and church service. How tenderly appreciated that is to the provider.

Are you financially able to help contribute in the flowers selection or the coffee hour?  Would you enjoy meeting and sharing information with the monthly Seniors Luncheon?  Have you thought about the great work you can embrace with the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Mission League)?

Can you meet with one of our teachers, and be a reader for the young students Bible study at the elementary school. If so, see Dr. Chris Smith, Principal and Elder. Any of the current administrators would love to talk with you about the needs within the classroom.  Teachers are great about sharing this option if you have a desire and talent for working with children.

Today, we must address these elements of service work:

• Do it for God
• Do it for yourself (random acts of kindness)
• Know your fellow worshippers and greet them
• Give generously from love—your heart will be repaid
• Jesus taught us:  IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE

Lost and Found

PLEASE always check your child’s school sweater and/or sweatshirts. 

We have had multiple sweaters/sweatshirts (with student’s names in them) taken home 

by the wrong children—and they are not being brought back. 

Some of these are brand new and the parents, understandably, are not happy 

about purchasing new items over and over. 

Please check to see if your child accidentally brought home a sweater or 

sweatshirt that belongs to another student.

From the Elders

We have been blessed in all the years of Bethany Lutheran Ministry since 1952.  This blessing has been a bountiful gift of grace from our Heavenly Father.  Think about where we were just eighteen months ago. We had no permanent called Senior Pastor. We all were trying to come together to worship in spite of the plague of Covid 19. Still, we had a congregation, like many others, with opposing ideas and small factions that could have caused divisions for God’s Bethany people.  Thankfully, those who sometimes seek their own personal comfort instead of that of the larger good did not prevail.  Some left, some have taken a wait-and-see attitude, but the in the main we weathered the storm and are unified and remain faithful.  As your Elders serving as guidance and connection from and to our congregation, we have observed an assortment of varied changes, most of the changes being excellent.

Our Pastor, Dr. PHILLIP PLEDGER has continuously let it be known in public, on live-stream television and in his personal conversations that  “A building is not the church; the church is the fellowship of Christians in worship and in faithful service”. We all needed to be reminded of this sacred and cherished holy truth. As we have listened and hopefully learned from Pastor Phillip’s sermons, more is required than just sitting in church, listening to God’s word.   We must commit to act as God’s servants, each man, woman and child, in our daily lives. 

Service work is important to any organization.  It is the lifeblood to the organization, which includes a church.  This equates to wage and productivity in the private sector, and but also applies in the realm of a Christian’s work.

NO BUNNY LOVES YOU LIKE JESUS!

Join us for Bethany’s Annual Easter Festival

Saturday, April 16 from 9:00-10:00 AM

We are in need of plastic eggs and are requesting one dozen per

student be donated, stuffed with non-chocolate candy and/or

stickers, etc. Please have your child bring them to their classrooms

by Monday, April 11.

The morning fun kicks off at 9AM sharp with tasty treats. Doughnuts

with plenty of coffee and beverages for all. This year instead of selling

items we will be asking for donations in our donation jars to help cover

the cost of the food items and event.

Our egg hunts begin at 9:45AM, so please bring your basket and join in the fun!

There will be Fun Easter Tattoos, Egg Toss & Relays, Easter bowling, etc.,

and a family photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny!

Bring your camera to capture those special moments.

Come enjoy a fun-filled morning at this wonderful event!

We are in need of volunteers! This is a great way to earn partnership

hours. We will need help with set up, monitoring the games and clean up.
