How to Get a Teenager to Clean Up - House Cleaning Made Easy

How do you get a teenager to clean up? Teenager chores are different from kid’s housework, right? Or if a teenager’s dirty room doesn't bother the teen, should it bother you?

We Ask a House Cleaner about cleaning motivation and cleaning hacks for teenager housework.

Angela Brown says kids cleaning the house is a good idea and trains them keep up a dirty room. Kids clean when there is a rewards system. And there should be a kid cleaning routine that easy for them to do.

  • Fill out information and select the grade choice

One of the most important components of an educational program, is the ability to offer diversity within the course matrix. While striving to provide a high quality academic program, we realize that electives are essential in building that diversity. Bethany Lutheran is proud to offer our students a very rich and diverse elective program. Electives are typically courses that fall outside of the main core academic subject areas (English, math, history, science and foreign language). Electives may reflect a teen’s interests, introduce or improve skills, or be directly related to a future career. Electives do not require as much time or work as a core course, but include educational content.

Our elective courses are comprised of 6 to 8-week modules, which allows the student to experience a variety of new and challenging courses while learning new skills. This year the courses below will be provided to students in grades 5 – 8. Although each student will have an opportunity to take an elective course, they may not be able to participate in each one that is offered due to their own individual academic course offering.

EAT | 3 Easy Valentine's Day Treats

Ramp up the cuteness factor this Valentine's Day with these 3 easy to make, even yummier to eat Treats.

LADY BUGS

Ingredients

- Double Stuffed Sandwich Cookies
- red candy melts
- dark brown candy melts
- coconut oil
- yellow candy melts (for bumble bees)
- piping bag
- edible googly eyes
- edible heart decorations

Directions

1. Pour red candy melts into a bowl with 1 tbs. coconut oil and melt in microwave in 30 mins intervals and stirring in between. Takes about 1.5 minutes to melt fully.
2. Dip each cookie into the melted red candy melt about 2/3 of the way up.
3. Quickly add small heart sprinkles pushed into the red coated cookie.
4. Allow to cool, about 20 minutes or 8 in the refrigerator.
5. Melt dark brown candy melts in the same manner. Dip the remaining 1/3 uncovered parts of the cooled coated cookie into dark brown (for the head of the love bugs).
6. Immediately add edible googly eyes.
7. Poor remaining melted dark brown candy melts into a piping bag and cut a small hole at the tip.
8. For red ladybugs: pipe a vertical line down the middle splitting the red part into 2 equal halves. Add dots in between hearts sprinkles.
9. Leave to cool then serve

STAINED GLASS HEARTS

Ingredients

- sugar cookie dough
- jolly ranchers
- flour for rolling

Directions

1. Crush the jolly ranchers with a hammer or mortar and pestle.
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
3. Prep the cutting board or counter with flour. Sprinkle flour on a rolling pin as well.
4. Roll out the dough to be about 1/3 or 1/4 inch thickness
5. Use large size heart shaped cookie cutter to cut into the dough.
6. Leave the cutter on the dough without removing yet.
7. Use a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out a smaller heart cutout inside the bigger cutter.
8. Remove the inner cutout excess. Transfer the heart shaped border onto a baking sheet with lined parchment paper.
9. Repeat this step for as many cookies as you want.
10. Go back to the crushed jolly ranchers, fill in the center of each heart shaped cutout cookie dough 1/2 - 1/3 way to not overflow while baking.
11. Stick the cookies in the oven for 10 - 12 mins checking after about 8 minutes to make sure they don't burn.
12. Leave to cool.

PRETZEL HEARTS

Ingredients

- small pretzels (taste better salted)
- dark brown candy melts
- white candy melts (optional)
- embellishments

Directions

1. Line pretzels all out in rows on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
2. Melt those candy melts with 1 tbsp coconut oil in microwave in 30 mins intervals, stirring after each interval. Usually melts in about 1.5 minutes.
3. Put melted wafers into piping bag and cut small hole at the tip.
4. Pipe a heart shape inside each pretzel. ***TIP*** pipe the letter "V" instead of a heart to make it easier and neater looking.
5. After piping each heart - add sprinkles (optional) then place a heart shaped candy on top.
6. Leave to cool.
