August Life Together Digest with Pres. Harrison

In this Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, discusses the recent decision of the Synod’s Japanese partner church, the Nihon Ruteru Kyodan, to affirm the ordination of women. He also highlights the ongoing work of the Livonian Lutheran Project in Latvia, and the recent installation of the Rev. Dr. Juhana Pohjola as bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Dioceses of Finland.

Reading from Ephesians 6, Harrison highlights the meaning and importance of the “confession” of Christians in the world today.

“We have a message: Christ is for sinners, only for sinners. ... Christ forgives sinners. That’s the bold confession we are going to continue to make, come what may.”
