Principal’s Notes: Being Thankful – Try Something New
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
As we embark on vacation in order to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded of all of the things that I am thankful for and how blessed I truly am. I also start to think about all the things I have put off doing and want to experience. It’s good to occasionally (or perhaps frequently) do something that would be unexpected, something new or “out of the box.” Do something that will surprise people and perhaps stretch you a bit. It will keep your life interesting, and you’ll end up thanking God for your exciting new challenge and adventure.
We are not created by God to merely do the same thing over and over until it has no meaning left at all. In case you haven’t noticed, God frequently changes things up in our lives. God is creative. Just look at the amazing variety in His creation and you will have to agree that His creativity has no end. Don’t be afraid of trying new things. Go ahead and do some of those things you have been putting off over the Thanksgiving holiday or Christmas season. Experience all that God and this life has to offer and above all else enjoy your family and family time.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break,
Dr. Smith
