From The Principal
Blessings from God’s amazing school, Bethany Lutheran. I am so excited to welcome all of our returning families as well as welcome all of our new students and their families. As this new school year is upon us, bringing with it new opportunities, new challenges and—I can confidently predict—a new list of accomplishments for our school and for the students who make us proud. I am thrilled to have all continuing and new students with us and I look forward to yet another year of learning, serving our communities and, together, furthering the reach of God’s amazing love, the strength, and courage of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and furthering the distinctive mission of Bethany Lutheran Church.
A Christian education is something that will benefit your child throughout his or her life. With each day that passes, the need for strong Christians who can help individuals, families, businesses, and communities thrive becomes ever clearer. Partnering with parents to teach children is an honor and something we do not take lightly. We appreciate you making us your academic home this year. You have chosen an organization that promises to play an increasingly vital role in our global Christian society, by preparing your son or daughter both spiritually and academically. This private Christian school has the opportunity to offer students a challenging curriculum with Christian values infused throughout all lessons. One of the most important goals of our teachers is to provide your child with a classroom that is not only consistent and structured, but also full of warmth and security so that we can share the Lord’s truth and vision together. When children feel secure, their motivation to learn will be enhanced.
Truly, our school exists to serve as a light to our community. We are here to reflect God’s light to others. Our world can be a stormy world; it’s not easy growing up these days. Young people face challenges, pressures, and temptations unimaginable just a few years ago. In a world of turmoil and constant change, parents increasingly look to Christian education to offer their children the tools they need to survive and succeed in this life—and for eternity.
To that end, we remain committed to introducing new programs, expanding or improving on initiatives already in existence, and engaging with new partnerships to enhance the education and services we provide. Along the way, we will continue to fulfill the mission and vision of Bethany
Lutheran Church and School, all of which I will continue to share with you along the way!
As the year gets underway, I wish each student success in their studies and in their personal growth and relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I look forward to the day when each of them will cross the stage to receive a diploma from 8th grade and make their official entry into the next phase of their lives.
It is a privilege and a blessing to serve as the Principal of such an outstanding school and be a part of what God is doing here at BLS!
In His Service,
Dr. Smith
